My favourite comfort meal is a nice warm bowl of lentils, which are a type of vegetable. I prefer my lentils to be rich in flavour, as well as creamy in texture. I start to prepare my lentils by soaking them in water for six to eight hours, preferably the night before cooking. The day after, I drain the soaked lentils and cook them in boiling water for about half an hour. Later, I drain the recently boiled lentils. When the lentils have been drained, I begin to throw in some spices and seasonings. My favourite seasonings are paprika, oregano and cumin. The lentils are ready to serve after they absorb the seasoning. Whenever I make lentils, the aroma in the kitchen reminds me of my lovely grandmother, who has always taught me about cooking. A great homemade meal, such as lentils, can always put me in a better mood.
